Update for 2009: I have replaced the factory ECM with a FAST
DFI system. This allows easy engine management using your laptop and the provided software.
The engine is out of a 1987 Buick Grand National. I have
tried to keep most everything I could from the GN so it would
be easy to get parts and diagnose problems. The motor has
been rebuilt and I will go into detail
on that on this site. The transmission is a manual valve
body turbo 400 that is also fresh. The rear end is a Ford
8-3/4 with a factory ford posi with extras. (More
detail). Fuel system uses (2) Aeromotive A1000 pumps that
flow 600 lbs. per hour.
Current Performance on pump
gas:
Best ET at 14lbs boost (stock GN) - 11.31 @ 118.03 mph
Best 60 foot - 1.41 using foot brake - no trans brake.
Car will go a alot faster if you want to turn up the boost.
I leave it low to just run ET's and play around on the street.
Weight - 3090 lbs with me in it - I am about
190 lbs.
